They are being held to raise money for the mountain rescue which is number one reason to take part, specially for those of us who like to disappear into the hills, number two reason is that they are being held at Durisdeer this year woop woop. For those of you who don't know these cracking hills this is an ideal opportunity to get to know them as there are some great routes which would make fanstastic hill running days out.

Outstanding views from the top overlooking the Auchencairn Bay. http://www.scottishhillracing.co.uk/RaceDetails.aspx?RaceID=RA-0021
Also part of Adam Anderson's Dumfries and Galloway Hill Championships, so who is keen? 14th of April.
Im off that day so I reckon seeing as its also the Merseyside semifinal day we'll catch the game in Dalbeattie afterwards. I will offer a car but I'm already shipping a couple of guys over who are racing for the first time (so you know you won't be last). I thoroughly recommend this!]]>

To Dumfries Running Club
Thank you for all your support to Desmond during his illness. Also for attendance at Maxwelltown West Church and the wonderful article in the "Standard".
As a family we appreciate your support.
He was a "one off" and will be missed by all who was part of his life.
Kindest regards,
Marilyn Park.]]>

I am trying to raise some funds for Alzheimers Scotland and would be grateful of any donations. To donate, visit www.justgiving.com/Alan-Baxter , or text OTHC87 £3 to 70070, to donate £3. I can also take money and upload on your behalf if that is easier for you? If you visit the just giving page you can have a laugh at the photo of me at Chester Marathon last year when it got a bit tough towards the end!

I have been promised that any money I raise will be doubled by a rather wealthy relative so for every £1 you donate the charity will actually get £2. Thanks in advance.

Alan

Dear Margaret,

The leg of the One Show 1000 relay we are trying to fill is at 10.10am TUESDAY 20TH MARCH – Meeting point Hetland Hall Hotel, Carrutherstown, Dumfries, DG1 4JX. We estimate that runners will be with us for no longer than 3 hours, they will get on a minibus and be taken to the start of the previous leg, and then jump off and do their mile then get back on the minibus and then the next person gets off and does theirs, and so on and so forth, then the runners will be dropped back at the hotel after completing the miles. It should be a really fun experience and every runner gets a One Show 1000 relay t-shirt and goodie bag as an added incentive(!)

Here is the link to the website for more information, and you can see the first runners from the Isle of Mull from this morning! : http://www.sportrelief.com/fundraise/the-one-show-1000/track

So who's up for this then. I am off that day, so surprise surprise I probably will be. There's a free T. SHirt you know.

Susan
