Gelston 5 Mile Results

Tuesday seen the annual outing to Castle Douglas for the ever popular Gelston 5 mile race.  Organised by DRC members this fairly low key event is very popular amongst DRC members and other local running clubs.  Well done to all who took part in the warm conditions.  Several age group prizes were collected by DRC members with Kevin McQueen first DRC male finisher and Fiona Robertson first DRC female finisher.  Full results below.

Moffat 15K

Moffat 15K

The Moffat 15k Race is always a popular target for many members of Dumfries Running Club and a lower than usual turnout of 20 joined the field for the event on Tuesday evening. Effectively the race is split into three separate parts with the first section a relatively easy 4 miles followed by a 200 metre climb within a mile at the Devil’s Beeftub with the reward for tired runners a 4 mile downhill run back to the Ram at Moffat. Whilst the sun did not put in much of an appearance, the constant rain combined with a warm and muggy evening which provided challenging conditions.

The West Highland Way Race 2019

Two members of Dumfries Running Club lined up at 1am on June 21st to take part in the longest and hardest race, the 95 mile West Highland way race. Seb Pflanz was at the start line in Milngavie for his fourth attempt and for Laura Broatch this was her very first time at such a difficult challenge.
