Philiphaugh 7 mile hill race.
Craig Malcolmson was the lone DRC member to travel through to the Borders to Selkirk on Sunday for the annual 7 mile hill race .
Craig joined 60 other runners for the 5th running of the race & they were fortunate to have decent weather with good underfoot conditions as well .
As the race got underway it followed a land-rover track for about half mile before leading onto the Hill trail with leads up to top of first summit named the three Brethren at 464m. The trail then descends to the foot of Foulshiels hill where the runners now ascend to the top at 444m, runners then have the luxury of a 2.5mile descent practically all the way to the finish. It was Craigs 1st hill run in 5wks & was delighted to go sub 60 mins to record a time of 56:52& 11th place overall. The race was won for the 4th time by Fergus Johnstone in a time of 48:13.
Big thanks to all Organisers & the Tea ladies for a great feed at the Selkirk rugby club.
