Derwentwater 10
Today five members of Dumfries Running Club took part in the 52nd Derwentwater 10 mile roadrace starting and finishing in Keswick
After a very foggy drive down the weather in Keswick was bright and sunny, and the conditions just perfect for running this hard but absolutely beautiful race. The first 4 miles undulate towards Grange then the route climbs upwards for about 2 miles, thankfully the rest of the race is mostly downhill back through Portinscale and back along the road to Keswick, finishing at Keswick School at Crosthwaite. Sandy Shankland was first home for the club in 1.04.05, followed by John Green in 1:14:46 who was being chased by Frank Skachill in 1.17.55, then came Theresa Lavery who also competed at Stranraer 10k yesterday in 1.28.30 and Susan Graham completed the quintet, being very pleased to be quicker than last year on 1.58.52.
