Stranraer 10K Road Race
On Saturday 5th, eleven Running Club members travelled west to a sun bathed Stranraer to join a field of around 220 in the annual 10K. Gala Harrier Graeme Murdoch took top spot in the race in a time of 34.22, whilst Steven Smith and David Parrish fought out a close inter-club battle for the remaining podium spots. Steven eventually taking 2nd with David only 8 seconds behind in 3rd. Undoubtedly the performance of the day came from Jo Zakrzewski who won the Ladies race in a new course record and in doing so finished in a fantastic 4th place overall.
The Club were well represented in the prize list with Graeme Cross taking 1st V40 prize and Danny Queen taking top honours in the V55 class. In the team competition the DRC men claimed the top step on the podium.
