WHEN DID YOU START RUNNING AND WHY?   About 3 years ago. I wanted to get fitter and hopefully lose a little bit of weight.  I also wanted to know if I could do it.

FAVOURITE THING ABOUT DUMFRIES RUNNING CLUB?   Running with other people, benefiting from the expertise, advice, etc. from the experienced runners.  Making new friends – always a bonus.

POSITIVE EXPERIENCES WITH DUMFRIES RUNNING CLUB?  The members of the Running Club have been very encouraging and with their help I have completed runs of increasing mileage.  The highlight was finishing my very first half marathon; a distance I would have thought impossible before joining the club.

HOW DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE IMPROVED?   Everything has improved especially my health and sense of well being.  I have lost a little weight and toned up.  As for the speed, it is coming along, slowly.

FAVOURITE PLACE TO RUN?   Although I like running in Dumfries , I really enjoy the countryside near my home in Closeburn.  We have great scenery and relatively quiet roads.

FAVOURITE TYPE OF RUNNING/DISTANCE?  Probably at this time around 10km, but this may change as my mileage increases.

WEEKLY MILEAGE?  Approximately 15 miles at present, but rising.

MOST SATISFYING RUN/PERFORMANCE?    I think it may be easier to pick the most dissatisfying because I get satisfaction out of nearly every run – that is once they are over of course.
