DESCRIBE ANYTHING OF INTEREST THAT OCCURRED DURING THE RACE & HOW YOU FELT AFTERWARDS

This was a very friendly and well organised event with free refreshments for competitors both before and after the race. We gathered at the Sheepmount Stadium to register beforehand then made our way to the start line for the 11am start. The weather was wet and windy however the light breeze and damp air  was nice throughout the run. I ran a good pace throughout spurred on by a member of Cumberland AC at mile 2 who I overtook at nearly the 6 mile marker and pushed on towards the finish but slowed slightly on the last stretch just after the 6 mile point, however managed to come in just outside the hour!
