This very popular event last Sunday attracted 9,000 including nine members of Dumfries Running Club.

The new route started in the west end of the city and covered many of the main landmarks along the river Clyde including the BBC, the SSE Hydro arena and the squinty bridge before finishing in Kelvingrove Park. The ethos of the event is one of participation and encouragement with runners set off in waves to minimise congestion at the busiest points.

The fastest of the group was Skye Sarahs who had an excellent run in 49.50 in 185th place which means that she was in the fastest 4% of the field. Laura McCall ran very well in 52.35 as did Saty Burns who was 30 seconds behind. Carol Graham thoroughly enjoyed the event and was pleased to dip under the hour by twenty five seconds. Sharon Marshall ran well in the warm conditions in 61.08 and Margaret Laurie and Helen Paisley ran most of the way together in 66.34 with Natalie Potts delighted to finish the course in 77.37
