It was time for DRC to take the trip to Strathclyde Park to mix it with the best Masters Runners from across the country...this year there was added incentive as both the ladies and men's V50 team had titles to defend, whilst the V35 men had a target of trying to be in front of them both for the first three legs...

The ladies team of Lisa Finlay, Jo Zakzrewski and Mhairi Duff were hot favourites to take the title back to Dumfries, whilst the vet 50's were missing Ian from last year's winning team and Jim Buchanan, Kevin McCaig (Tosh), Les Hill and Brian Mohan set their sights on a podium finish.  The V35's had a strong team with Niall Campbell, Kev McQueen, Alan Baxter and Graeme Cross.

The ladies duly deliverd with a strong first leg from Lisa, a stormer by Jo to close the gap on DRC men and take the lead in the ladies race.  This was followed a flyer by Mhairi to ensure that the ladies won by a clear margin and finished in front of the DRC men after 3 legs.

On the Vet 50 side, Jim got a strong run in claiming the fastest vet 50 run of the day, handing onto Tosh who kept them in contention and right behind the DRC ladies.  Les ran his best time for several years and ensured Brian was in a strong position going into the last leg.  Brain held on for 3rd place much to the team's delight.

The young guys had their work cut-out and were giving a great chance with Niall running a strong first leg handing onto Kev McQ who kept ahead of the ladies.  Alan ran slightly down on his best and allowed Mhairi to get away in the second half, whilst Graeme ran typically well picking up a couple of places and getting the team home in 7th overall.

It was a great day out with club mates and a good recce for the Tom Scott race in April.
