The Glasgow Mens 10k

21/06/2015

Spaces at the 10th Anniversary Glasgow Men's 10k were limited but DRC runner Sean McGleenan was one of those who got in quickly enough. Uniquely it was the only pre-race briefing he can remember where anyone caught 'relieving themselves' along the way would be instantly disqualified!..

Starting from the Riverside Museum on the Clyde, the route criss-crossed the river and the city, taking in plenty of famous landmarks and finishing at Glasgow Green. Despite Glasgow being a hilly city the course was relatively flat with only one real climb near the start. Sean reckoned the best part was running over the Kingston Bridge with panoramic views of the city. Apparently you can see both Parkhead and Ibrox from the top of the bridge, though he didn't stop to check.

Sean was pleased with his time of 53.50 and finished in the top third of his age group.

Stephen Mohan.
